Kaleidoscope Music Festival
The Academy of Charter Schools launches a student musical festival and community event as a fundraiser for the K-12's music programs.
WESTMINSTER – A new community festival showcasing the wide spectrum of music programs at The Academy of Charter Schools will debut this fall. The first Kaleidoscope Music Festival is set for noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 5, 2019, on the grounds of The Academy’s main campus at 11800 Lowell Blvd., Westminster. Students, families and community members will be treated to free performances by students on two stages. Large ensembles, small groups and solo performers from across the K-12 school will take part. The outdoor event also features family activities and games for all ages, complementing the afternoon of music. Carnival games, a bounce house, a dunk tank and more will be offered. Local food trucks will be on site as well. Adults can take part in a raffle and silent auction, with prizes including theme park tickets, hotel stays, merchandise and services donated by area businesses, and much more. While admission to the debut event is free, the Kaleidoscope Music Festival is the premier fundraiser for The Academy Music Department. Funds raised from the raffle, auction and ticketed activities will directly go toward opportunities and equipment for music students at The Academy of Charter Schools. The Kaleidoscope Music Festival is presented by the Academy Music Parents (AMP), a not-for-profit organization (Tax ID: 20-4540289) founded in 2006 to support The Academy Charter School Music Department. AMP supports the school’s instrumental and choral music programs by subsidizing needs not covered under current school budgets. Of the school’s 1,850 students, 1,250 take part in music. Note: Sponsorships are being offered to local businesses, whose contributions will be promoted at the event. To learn more, please contact Marguerite Gormley, 720-301-7400, or [email protected]
