Senior Resources of Broomfield Kick-offs Broomfield Days with Dancing in the Park

Aug 01, 2019 03:40PM

Broomfield Days showcases all the best that our community has to offer in one weekend. How we help our neighbors in need is just of one of our community values on display during the annual celebration. Once again, Senior Resources of Broomfield (SRB) is proud to sponsor an exciting community entertainment event all in the spirit of lending a hand to local seniors in need.

On Friday night, September 20 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. don’t miss “Dancing in the Park” presented by SRB. The concert will feature acts from the School of Rock and Colorado’s Favorite Dance Band, Thumpin’. You can dance the night away in Midway Park (South side of the park, at the Main Stage near the Fire Station) with hundreds of friends and neighbors while supporting a vital local organization.

The event will feature food and a beer garden with $5 tokens for purchase available for either a meal or a beer. While there is no charge for the concert, donations are strongly encouraged and proceeds from donations, as well as food and beer sales will go to support Meals on Wheels which provides fresh, hot, nutritious meals delivered by volunteers, Monday through Friday to seniors 60 years of age or older who are homebound and/or live alone, and are unable to prepare meals for themselves.

Thumpin’ has become one of the most popular bands on the Denver music scene, drawing enthusiastic crowds and amassing a loyal following who love what this band does: providing its audiences with music that moves the body and soul, music with maximum groove.

If you would like one of the best seats in the park with cover from weather, prepared seating, and VIP treatment, to learn all about how to donate and reserve your VIP cabana for 10 for the night! Event sponsorships are also still available. Contact SRB through the website for details.

“Senior Resources is beyond excited about this Broomfield Days event organized to help countless local seniors who rely on the Meals on Wheels program. This event allows us to gain awareness with and gather support from a larger audience than ever before – and the impact of funds raised will be just as significant,” said Teryl Fabry, SRB Director. “Plus this will be a fun evening for all members of the community! All ages are welcome!”

SRB helps seniors through nutrition programs, including Meals on Wheels, and community resource programs, such as loans of medical equipment, caregiver respite, and funding for hearing aids and dental work.

The Dancing in the Park Concert is just one of the events that SRB sponsors at Broomfield Days. If golfing is more your speed than dancing, grab your friends and join the Broomfield Days Golf Tournament at the Eagle Trace Golf Course in Broomfield, also on September 20 at 7:30 a.m., which includes lunch and prizes. Registration is open at the SRB website. Finally, don’t miss the Annual Rock ‘n Roll Cool Classic Car Show, all day Saturday, September 21 on the South side of Midway Park toward Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church. Proceeds from this event benefit SRB.
